The electronic waste records procedure
Since April 2010, the creation and exchange of accompanying documents for the transportation of hazardous waste has been carried out exclusively in electronic form. This step marks the replacement of traditional paper documents, resulting in a simplification of the previous paper-based process.
Mandatory switch to electronic documentation
The electronic transmission of records to the competent authorities and electronic record keeping have since been mandatory for all waste disposal companies as well as certain waste producers and transporters. This innovation is known as the electronic waste records procedure (eANV).
Signing of the accompanying documents
Despite the electronic nature of the documents, accompanying documents for the transportation of hazardous waste must still be signed by producers, carriers, collectors and disposers. The previous handwritten signature has been replaced by the electronic signature.
