GVE specializes in the temporary storage of hazardous waste and operates Plant 3 at the ZIMMERMANN Group’s headquarters in Gütersloh.
At the certified interim storage facility, which includes an attached solvent tank farm, suitable hazardous waste is temporarily stored in accordance with the approved acceptance conditions before being sent for further treatment, recycling, or treatment . As a licensed waste management company, GVE operates in accordance with the legal and regulatory requirements applicable to its activities. Technical and organizational safeguards are in place to minimize risks to employees, the public, and the environment.
Proper Temporary Storage
GVE has specialized storage areas for the temporary storage of hazardous waste. Receipt, labeling, sorting, storage, and internal handling are carried out in accordance with the applicable regulations and approved operating procedures.
Qualified employees inspect the waste in accordance with the acceptance criteria and assign it to the designated storage areas. Technical monitoring, regular inspections, and established safety measures support controlled operations and help reduce operational risks.

Responsibility as a Facility Subject to Emergency Response Regulations
As a facility subject to major accident regulations, GVE implements technical, organizational, and personnel measures to prevent and limit the potential impacts of operational incidents.
These include regular inspections of the facilities, training on the handling of hazardous substances, and established emergency response and hazard mitigation plans.
These measures are reviewed and refined in accordance with applicable requirements.

Services for Industry, Research Institutes, and Local Governments
Within a radius of approximately 150 to 200 kilometers around Gütersloh, the “ Hazardous waste vehicle ” assists with the collection and pickup of suitable hazardous waste, such as paints, varnishes, and other hazardous substances. Which types of waste can be accepted depends on the type, quantity, packaging, the applicable transport and acceptance conditions, and the current acceptance catalog. Radioactive, infectious, and explosive materials are excluded from this service. The waste collected is documented and routed to appropriate disposal channels.
