proper disposal methods
with ZIMMERMANN
certified specialist companies
Welcome to the ZIMMERMANN Group!
For many decades, our focus has been on the recycling and waste management industry.
We treat, recycle, and dispose of hazardous and non-hazardous special waste generated by industrial processes. To the extent that the material properties and approved processes allow, we recover suitable components for further use. All services are provided in accordance with the applicable permits and legal requirements, in particular the Circular Economy Act.
Our services
Hazardous waste is our specialty.
All hazardous waste—whether mineral, liquid, or solid; combustible or non-combustible—the appropriate disposal method is determined by its composition and properties. We assess the specific requirements for each type of waste and carry out its treatment, recycling, or disposal at facilities authorized for that purpose.
Our facilities for hazardous waste treatment
Our facilities for hazardous waste. The companies of the ZIMMERMANN Group operate a total of twelve treatment facilities and licensed interim storage sites at several locations. These include physicochemical treatment facilities, solid waste conditioning facilities, treatment facilities for solid and paste-like hazardous waste, and distillation plants.

Treatment and Recycling
in accordance with the provisions of the KrWG
At the ZIMMERMANN Group’s certified hazardous waste management facilities, hazardous waste is tested based on its composition and assigned to appropriate treatment, recycling, or disposal processes. In certain processes, water, solvents, or other recoverable components can be separated and treated for further use. The types of recovery possible depend on the specific material stream, its quality, and the approved technical processes. Non-recoverable components are routed to an authorized disposal method.
In addition, the ZIMMERMANN Group offers services in the areas of plant engineering, distillation, chemical trading, and separator service and technology. Details on processes, applications, and requirements can be found on the respective service pages.

Where can hazardous special waste be generated, and how is it treated?
The manufacture and processing of food, cosmetics, metal products, adhesives, paints, varnishes, or components for electric vehicles can result in waste with hazardous properties.
Before accepting the waste, we review its declaration, composition, and acceptance criteria. The waste is then assigned to an appropriate, approved process. Depending on the material stream, options may include physicochemical treatment, conditioning, distillation, material or thermal recovery, or disposal. For suitable waste streams, water, solvents, or other components can be separated and treated.
